At its heart, being a flight attendant is a customer service role, but one that requires a richly diverse skillset. If you tick a lot of the following boxes, you may have what it takes to be a flight attendant:
Depending on the airline, you'll typically need to be a minimum of 18-19 years old to apply to be a flight attendant.
Rules regarding height vary from airline to airline but, generally speaking, applicants between the heights of 5ft 2in and 6ft 2in with their weight proportional to height will be accepted. You'll also need a good level of fitness (including the ability to swim) and be able to pass a medical check.
There are no specific qualifications you need to become a flight attendant, although you can take on an apprenticeship for on-the-job training or enroll in cabin crew courses at college.
Most of the skills and knowledge you require will come from the extensive training you receive once you've successfully applied. Individual aviation companies may have their own entry requirements also – for example, VistaJet Cabin Host applicants require at least three years of first class, business, or corporate cabin crew experience before applying.
