VistaJet, the world’s luxury aviation company currently operating over 35 aircraft around the globe, has selected Malta as the operating base to facilitate elements of its future growth. The selection of Malta is a continuation of the company’s global strategy, following the recent announcement of the largest single order in private aviation history for the acquisition of 56 firm Bombardier Global family aircraft and further 86 options.
VistaJet obtained an Operating License and an Air Operator Certificate back in May 2012 from Transport Malta and currently operates 4 Global Vision Maltese registered aircraft. VistaJet (Malta) has already created around 50 job posts in the areas of crew, operations, engineering, travel and administration. This new operating base will continue to increase in presence as the entire VistaJet fleet is set to double by 2015.
With our historic Global order we had to think ahead about expanding our operational bases. After extensive research we found that no other European jurisdiction combines an excellent geo-strategic location between our Service Regions, with a very focused, service-oriented Government, a well-educated English speaking workforce and with efficient structures as well as Malta. Malta is becoming a vital part of VistaJet’s future with the “Shared Service Center status for Operations & Engineering” being awarded recently.
Thomas Flohr, Founder and Chairman of VistaJet
With Malta´s ambition and commitment to develop its aviation sector – including one of the biggest aircraft registers in Europe and related areas such as aircraft engineering and maintenance, sector-specific education and training – the country is already an encouraging place to be for an aviation company and certainly has substantial potential in the future, as the Maltese governments continues with their sector-related strategy.
Nick van der Meer, Chief Operating Officer
We are very proud to be associated with VistaJet, through their investment in Malta. Their decision to base operations here clearly validates the Government’s vision and also the continuous efforts in establishing our island as the jurisdiction of choice for service-oriented cutting edge industries.
